Samsung CLP-300N home/office colour laser printer

August 20th, 2009

The Samsung CLP-300n is a network ready colour laser printer with a small footprint and small price tag which is aimed at small business and home users. A cheap purchase price for a printer usually means expensive running costs but this is not the case for the CLP-300n. Each of the printer cartridges need replacing at a different frequency, the colour toners, cyan, magenta and yellow will yield around 1,000 pages while the black toner yields twice as much with 2,000 pages. Samsung CLP-300n toner cartridges have a reasonable price tag which gives them an average cost per page of 10p for colour prints and 2p for black prints. Compatible Samsung toner cartridges are also avaible for the CLP-300n which can save up to 50% over the cost if the originals. Printing speeds for monochrome are rather good with 16ppm but colour printing is much slower at 4ppm, this is due to the fact that the CLP-300 is a carousel printer, meaning that each colour in a colour image is built up on the imaging drum before being transferred to the paper. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to print quality of the CLP-300n, the factory setting do produce rather heavy print but this is easily adjusted thought the CLP-300n’s simply control panel and prints can be optimised to suit your personnel taste. Both monochrome and colour prints are sharp and better than what you would except from a colour laser printer at this price. As said previously the Samsung CLP-300n is fully network ready so can be shared between numerous PC and is perfect for small work groups.
